Password strength checker

A second opinion, kept private.

Type a value for an in-page heuristic estimate. The application does not intentionally submit checker input to an API.

Local only

Tip: this is an estimate, not a guarantee. A unique password is always the safest choice.

A few ways to improve it

  • Type a password to check it locally.

Evaluated in this page.

The checker has no submission step or breach lookup. Clipboard tools, extensions, and compromised device software remain outside this page’s control.

Interpret with care

This score is a hint, not a security verdict.

What is measured

The checker considers length, character categories, three repeated characters, and a very short list of common terms. It does not search breach data, model most human patterns, know whether you reused the password, or estimate a specific attacker’s cost.

Safer way to assess

Ask whether the value was randomly generated, unique, long, and stored in a manager. Avoid pasting a live high-value password: although this application evaluates input in-page, clipboard managers, extensions, or compromised software may still observe it.
